Basic Guidelines
The following guidelines reflect the interest of the philanthropists, Charles and Mary Fayne Glotfelty, in the areas of Education, the Arts and Human Services. The Trustees charged with the responsibility of selecting recipients of Glotfelty Foundation’s grants follow these guidelines when making decisions.
The Trustees will consider all qualified applications received from organizations that are exempt from taxation under the Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)3 or 501(c)4 or government entity of the United States of America. For Educational Grants, the Trustees will consider applications from individuals who are graduating high school, or who plan to resume their education.
Available Grants
Will be awarded directly to accredited colleges, universities or technical/vocational schools on behalf of high school graduates and GED recipients from Kanawha County, West Virginia. Demonstrated financial need and educational goals will be considered in award of the scholarship. High grade point averages are not a top priority to be considered. No grants will be awarded to an individual.
Will be awarded to non-profit, tax-exempt organizations in Kanawha County, West Virginia, that provide services directly to children or adults who are homeless or battered, or to organizations that meet basic needs for food, shelter and clothing. Grants will also be awarded to non-profit arts organizations in Kanawha County, West Virginia.
